It's also a bit costly but not as expensive as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally powerful and more attractive. If you're willing to live with a bit more noise and some additional cost it's a powerful two-in-one that will delight most.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

This allows you to instruct the robot on which part of your home needs to be cleaned by using the app or voice control. A stairway mode is useful if you own a number of furniture. Also the recharge and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to pick up right where it left off is great for busy families.

The RX3 is more advanced than its price suggests. It does a stellar job cleaning, removing 55% of debris in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses using one pad and a reciprocating movement that is more efficient than most mop cleaners for robots that we've examined. It's self-sufficient too, with a full-featured app and an auto-emptying, washable base.

The iRobot app is designed to guide you through a mapping run, which gathers information on your floorplan, as well as any "no go" areas you've marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules or to set up the spot-cleaning. You can also use it to rank your most filthy areas for better performance.
