For one, the Q5's navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology, so it's prone to become entangled in socks and shoes and couldn't navigate tightly packed rooms very efficiently in our tests. It doesn't also come with a camera to look around corners.

It's still a great deal particularly if your home or office has lots of unfinished floors and you're looking to save money. It's also extremely quiet and operates while you're at work or school. It's also the only robotic cleaner and mop vacuum/mop to score the perfect 10/10 out of 10 in our tests. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that is fully self-refill and empty its base station and it boasts its own self-cleaning mop pads.

Its vacuum has a high maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to finish the job. It also comes with "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the intensity at which the vacuum works and also alters the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home in accordance with the degree of dirt they tend to be.

For larger homes, it's worth opting for a model with zone or spot cleaning modes that let you tell the robot to clean a particular area of your house using the app or voice controls. A stair mode can be useful if you own a lot furniture. For busy families, a recharge function and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to pick up where it left off could be extremely useful.
