It's also the only robot vacuum/mop that scored an absolute 10 out of 10 in our tests. This is thanks to the combination of high-tech sensors including a structured light system, camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that can fully self-refill and empty its base station and it has an industry-leading 12,000Pa suction and self-cleaning mop pads.

The X40, like other iRobot products, is easy to operate. It comes with an easy mobile app interface that integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only downside is that the X40 is still a loud unit. This could be a concern in the mornings prior to work or during the night when you are trying to fall asleep.

It's also quite expensive, though it's not as expensive as the Ecovacs Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra Both of which are equally powerful and look better. If you're willing to put up with a little more noise and some additional cost this is a efficient two-in-one device that should satisfy most people.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

If you have a larger home, you should consider choosing a model that has the option of cleaning zones or spots. This allows you to tell the robot which area of your house needs to be cleaned using the app or voice command. If you have furniture, a stairway mode is also a good option. For families with busy schedules, a recharge feature and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to continue from where it left off could be very beneficial.

It's also self-sufficient with a fully-featured application, and a self-emptying base that is washable.

The iRobot app is designed to guide you through an exercise in mapping, which gathers information on your floorplan as well as any "no go" areas that you have marked on the map.
