Elayaperumal claims that Medtronic deliberately discriminated against him because of his race and nationality. He claims that his poor performance review in June of 2000 as well as the decision not to grant him certain project assignments were influenced by racism. However there is no evidence to suggest Medtronic's decision-making was based on these factors. Elayaperumal’s lower performance rating did not cause any reduction in his compensation or benefits.
