Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very good scores in our floor tests that test for bare floors They're also particularly adept at cleaning pet hair. There are some issues, however, that prevent them from being our first choice. One of the Q5's shortcomings is its navigation system doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance. It's therefore prone to become stuck on shoes and socks and could not navigate densely packed rooms very well in our tests. Also, it doesn't have a camera that would let it see the corners of an area.
It's still a great deal particularly if your home or office has lots of unfinished floors and you're looking to save money. Plus, it's very quiet and can work while you're at work or school. It lacks the edge-to-edge bare floor vacuuming feature that's offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. And it's less effective at mopping, relying on disposable wet wipes that don't stay on for long and don't handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does have an auto-emptying dock, however. If you're in need of it clean the mopping pad, it can be changed for one that is wet in just a few just a few seconds.
2. IRobot Roomba
The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact elegant vacuum cleaner that can sweep floors. Its intelligent cleaning maps as well as fluid navigation make it simple to clean, and efficient in tackling larger particles such as pet hair. It also features strong suction and self-emptying bin. It's the best robot vacuum for carpets, but it lags behind some competitors in deep cleaning.

It's a little more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empties into the base. It also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can clean the floor even after it vacuums. This is a feature we haven't seen on other robotic hoovers vacuum/mop combinations.
3. Roomba X40 from iRobot
With an elegant, circular design that looks more like a regular Roomba rather than the compact models This robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most attractive looking models in our evaluations. The latest model from iRobot happens to be its smartest, with advanced features including enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).
It's also the only robot vacuum/mop to score the perfect 10/10 out of 10 in our tests. This is thanks to a combination high-tech sensors including a structured light system, camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.
The X40 as with other iRobot products, is simple to use. It comes with a simple mobile app interface that is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only issue is that the X40 still a loud unit. This could be a problem in mornings prior to work or during the night when you are trying to sleep.
It's also quite expensive, though it's not as expensive as the Ecovacs X2 Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra, both of which are equally capable and look better. It's a dual-purpose vacuum that's extremely powerful however, it's going to cost you more and produce more noise.
4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the line robot vacuum and mop. It has a range of features that are advanced and will make you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning machine that is similar to Ecovacs the top of the line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It features a multi-functional dock that can automatically empty the vacuum's bin and fills up the water tank, and washes and dry mop pads.
The smart robot uses the combination of LIDAR and structured light to create floor plans and identify obstacles, and navigates more effectively than its more expensive competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera that can detect hazards in real-time however this was not completely foolproof in our tests, and could be confused with power cords or obstructions.
Its vacuum cleaner has an maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to complete the task. It also features "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the amount of time the vacuum works and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house in accordance with the amount of dirt they are.

The app offers a variety of options, including seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.
It also has the ability to reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It features an impressive 8000 Pascal suction as well as sophisticated combs that remove pet hair. And you can set up a spot cleaning that thoroughly cleans a particular area.
