The best robotic mop and vacuum Robot Hoover

The best robot hoover can vacuum and mop without needing your attention. It will leave your floors clean. Its affordable price and high-end functions (such as a dirt detector) are a plus.

Make sure you regularly check your robot's brushes for hair tangled and large particles and clean them as needed. Some models will automatically empty their onboard dust bin into a larger bin at the base, which reduces the amount of fine dust released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive counterpart, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums that we have test. They have top-of-the-line motors that can pull up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. And, like other top iRobot models (including the top-rated model) they utilize intelligent mapping technology to create detailed floor plans that avoid home-based obstacles like cords and furniture legs. The robots also have the feature of Carpet Boost which boosts its power when it senses dirt on the carpet.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored very well in our tests on bare floors They are also adept at cleaning dog hair. There are some issues, however, that prevent them from being our first option. One of the flaws of the Q5 is that its navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's also prone to become stuck on socks and shoes and could not navigate rooms with lots of people well in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera that can see around corners.

It's still a great option to consider, particularly if you're looking to save money on an Roomba from iRobot, and you have a mostly bare-floor home or office. It's also very quiet and operates while you are at work or school. The only thing it lacks that you can't find in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective in mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does come with an auto-emptying dock, however. And, if you have to, you can swap the mopping pad to dry ones in a matter of minutes.

2. iRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact elegant vacuum cleaner that can mop floors. Its smart cleaning maps and nimble navigation make it easy to clean, and effective in dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also comes with a self-emptying bin with powerful suction and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robotic hoover for carpets but it's not as good as other hoovers when it comes to deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mops utilizes sensors that help it stay clear of obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the structure of your home over time and offer more efficient cleaning. The app allows you to set up zones and modify the cleaning schedule. Its battery life is average compared to other models.

It is possible to instruct the X30 Ultra to remove its mop and extend them when in a room with carpet to prevent cross-contamination. The flex arm is ideal to get under furniture with low levels and along baseboards. It's not as effective on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

In the course of testing, X30 Ultra was the quickest robot vacuum/mop that could clean an entire home and had 66 percent of its battery remaining. It did a great cleaning job on a variety of floors and rooms with different flooring types including certain area rug. Its obstacle detection was excellent and it was able to avoid fake dog turds, socks, shoes and bundles of cables.

It's a little more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, but it has superior suction, a dustbin on board that automatically emptys into its base, and it supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after it vacuums it, something we've not seen on other robotic vacuum/mop combos.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

This mop and vacuum combination is sleek and has a circular look that looks much like a Roomba model than the boxy models from the competitors. It is one of our most appealing looking robot vacuums. iRobot's latest flagship model also is its most advanced, with advanced features including Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).

It's the only robotic hoovers mop or vacuum that scored 100% in our testing, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors, including cameras, a structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that can fully self-refill and empty its base station and it boasts its own self-cleaning mop pads.

The X40, like other iRobot products, is easy to use. It has an easy mobile app interface that is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only issue is that it's a noisy unit that could be an issue if you use it in the morning prior to work or at night as you try to fall asleep.

It's also quite expensive but not as much as the Ecovacs S8 MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally powerful and more attractive. This is a dual-purpose vacuum that's extremely powerful however it's going to cost you more and create more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end robot mop and automatic vacuum cleaner and mop. It comes with a variety of features that are advanced and will help you forget your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning machine, similar to Ecovacs top-of-the-line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It has a multifunction dock which automatically empty the vacuum's bin, refills the water tank, and cleans and drys the mop pads.

The smart robot makes use of an array of LIDAR and structured light to create floor plans and spot obstacles, making it more efficient than some of its premium competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera that can detect hazards in real-time, though this wasn't 100% reliable in our tests and was often confused with obstructions or power cords.

Its vacuum has a suction maximum of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to get the job done. It also comes with "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the intensity at which the vacuum works and alters the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house according to how dirty they are.

For larger homes it's worth looking for a model with spot or zone cleaning modes that allow you to tell the robot to clean one particular area of your home using the app or voice commands. If you have furniture, a stair-mode is also useful. Also, a recharge and resume function that allows your robot vacuum cleaners uk vacuum to take over exactly where it left off is great for busy families.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is more advanced than its price would suggest. It vacuums well, picking up 55% debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with a single pad that uses a reciprocating motion that cleans better than most of the other mop cleaners for robots we've examined. It's also highly self-sufficient, with a full-featured app and a self emptying, washable base.

The well-designed iRobot app will guide you through an initial mapping exercise that collects information about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. You can use it to create cleaning schedules, plan the perfect spot for cleaning or prioritise your dirtiest rooms to ensure better performance. The app has a range of features, such as seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

It also has the ability to reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It also has a powerful 8000 Pascal suction and combs that are intelligent for pet hair. And you can create a spot-clean that thoroughly cleans a particular area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and less expensive alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's more appealing, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras appear like cute eyes. It's good at vacuuming, but is more prone to getting caught on low thresholds and is a bit louder than the other top robot vacuums we've tested. It also has an app that is less intuitive and has a tiny base station that does not double as a bin for emptying.
