However, unlike the i7+ or other top-rated robots we evaluated, the i3+ doesn't have a feature for avoiding obstacles and therefore it could get stuck on things like socks or power cords and it may have trouble in navigating through transitions between surfaces like hardwood to rug.

iRobot recommends you clear out areas that the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, which includes putting away any clutter or toys it may come across. The i7+ is quicker and more maneuverable in our tests compared to the eufy RoboVac G30. It also removed large pet hair pieces from any surface including carpeting. The main advantage it has over the Eufy is its self-emptying bin, which eliminates the main sources of maintenance and reduces recurring cost.

We were also awestruck by the i7+’s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the robot to start, stop, or pause cleaning sessions as well as move around the room, and to vacuum a particular area. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was easy and straightforward using the iRobot Home app. Once connected we were able to communicate with the i7+ using voice commands such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options for managing i7+ settings and evaluating performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

In a world of vacuums with cords that are like minivans and buses, this tiny Dyson model is an old-fashioned sports car. It is powerful enough to replace a traditional stand-up vacuum in a majority of homes, but also small enough to fit on a bookcase or coffee table.

Its intelligent navigation system makes use of iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate around your home, but it isn't equipped with the mapping capability of more sophisticated models such as our Top Rated Robot Vacuum choices, the i3+ EVO and the j7+ series. This means that it may get stuck on things like phone cords and furniture that isn't as sturdy, and often will run out of battery before returning to its base.

The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways over the Roomba 694 because it has fewer components that require regular cleaning, is outfitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtration system, incurs lower costs for recurring expenses and has more advanced automation capabilities and is better able to move its own.
