The Secret Secrets Of Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.
He reviews and tests cleaning equipment, focusing on mopping and robot vacuum combos. Multitaskers are ideal for those who are looking to remove mopping from their to-do lists. They are equipped with impressive mapping and obstacle avoidance, and some even wash and refill their own mopping pads to give themselves a hands-off clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model to select if you're looking for an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It's smaller than the other models on this list, which makes it easier to maneuver in tight corners and under furniture. It has a 220 degree Lidar that, combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, provides one of my top navigation and avoidance capabilities I've seen in a robotic vacuum. It packs a powerful 4600mAh battery that lasts for up to 170-minutes, if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it is able to run longer in turbo). It can even return to the dock to replenish its battery midway through cleaning.
It's extremely fast and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms extremely quickly and hardwood floors in the kitchen, hallways, and living room in a single pass. Its 8,000pa motor is able to clean dirt, pet hair, and droppings effortlessly. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects rugs and the dual side brush helps to remove debris from corners.
The mopping performance, while still impressive, isn't as good. The mop rotates quickly and automatic vacuum cleaner makes use of 2.2lbs to clean dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arms stick out a bit more than other robots that vacuum and mop, which can be helpful to get into tight corners and along baseboards. The front arms can also be used to scoop up larger debris like books and broken toys.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've used. It doesn't create as loud of a sound while vacuuming or mopping and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only downside is that the S1 Pro must use a exclusive cleaning solution for mopping, and is separate from the vacuum. It's simple to install and performs well, but it's something you'll have to keep an eye on when you purchase this vacuum for the sole reason of mopping.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from the majority of robot vacuums which mops in its class. It is equipped with a broad array of features that make it an ideal choice for homeowners looking to purchase an extremely efficient, flexible and ad-hoc cleaning machine.
The device comes with an impressive and powerful cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensors with an RGB camera to map the house and detect furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean intelligently and methodically. This results in a thorough, consistent clean which is also relatively fast.
In terms of mopping, Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can reach a wide range of surfaces. These include corners and baseboards as well as other difficult-to-access spots. The side brush can be stretched out to reach the floor near to the walls and other fixtures. In addition the mop pads are able to be washed and dried to avoid build-up and lessen the smell.
Another feature worth mentioning is the customization options that are available through apps. The Q Revo allows you to alter the amount of suction and select between a back-andforth, or a more random pattern. You can also set the number of passes it will make, which will determine how quickly the device can move around your home. You can even choose to disable the side brush to avoid damaging carpets and rugs.
It's expensive, but it comes with a lot of smart features. It's important to keep in mind that it has regular costs in the form of mopping equipment and maintenance. For example the brushroll has to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to 12 months. The filter is to be cleaned every 150 hours, and the mop pads must be replaced every one to three month.
The robot vacuum that mops has a high rating on Amazon and comes with a wide variety of physical automation features. The robot vacuum also comes with an energy button that doubles as the 'Clean button' and a Home' button to send it home after cleaning. It also comes with a multifunctional dock that automatically empty the dustbin, refills its water tank, and wash and dry its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be an ideal choice for busy professionals or anyone looking to keep their home clean without spending too much time on chores. Its powerful performance, smart navigation and long battery life make it easy to maintain a clean home with minimal effort.
The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop, that is, it can do mopping and vacuuming. The robot is divided into two modules which include a dry bin and water tank that can be snapped out and in and a mopping module which has microfiber pads. It's a little old-fashioned to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping but it does mean you don't have to worry about changing out disposable bags or refilling the tank with water.
Our test participants found that the Matrix Plus did a great job at both vacuuming and mopping. Its best feature was its accurate floorplan that it uses to create an outline for cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate effortlessly between rugs, furniture, and other obstacles. The app also gives you the option to set "No-Go zones" and virtual barriers that help to shield certain areas of your house from being swept with a mop.
We also noticed that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in picking up hair from pets. It was able to capture a large amount of hair our cats shed, and even got into the nooks and crannys of our stairs, where other robots struggled. Its noise levels were fairly low and there were nice jingles to signal that it was in the process of finishing its work.
Its biggest drawbacks were its simplistic app and the requirement to switch out the modules whenever switching between vacuuming and mopping. The app isn't able to store multiple maps, which can be a hassle if you have a home with multiple floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a ideal choice for people who are looking for a smart device that can vacuum and mop.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that mops in our review, but it also has unique features that are worth considering. The X1 Omni is most well-known for its enormous dock that serves as an charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two water tanks of 4 liters. It also houses a 2.5-liter dustbin and a 2.5 dust bin that is 2.5 liters.
The base also has a number of control buttons that let you manually start a cleaning task, recall the robot, or use the dock's automatic emptying process. Hold down two buttons to switch on the child lock, which is a nice touch for parents worried about kids tinkering with the vacuum.
The X1 Omni, like other robotic cleaner and mop vacuums, utilizes its camera to spot obstacles and furniture that are in its path. It will avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.
Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni can occasionally become so entangled with an obstacle--such as a power cord draped across a rug, that it gets stuck and stops working until you free it. This was a rare incident however it was frustrating since the X1 does not have an "stuck status" alert on its application.
Another possible issue is one of the biggest drawbacks is X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between vacuuming and mopping modes during a cleaning session. You'll have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad but the mopping pad doesn't get cleaned or dried between uses. This could lead to mildew and mold.
On the bright side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot vacuum cleaner uk thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who dreamed up its modern and sleek base as well as mopping pad. It's a significant contrast to the utilitarian, all-black bases used by competitors like Roborock and iRobot and is a refreshing sight in a space which is dominated by clunky, boxy units.
