1. Roomba Q5 pro
The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive sibling, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums that we have test. They feature top-of-the-line motors that can generate up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. And, like other top iRobot models (including the top-rated model), they use smart mapping technology to design precise floor plans and eliminate home-based obstacles like cords and furniture legs. They also feature carpet boost, a feature that boosts the robot's performance when it detects an abundance of dirt on the carpet to get it cleaned quickly.
Both the Q5 as well as the Q7 Max Series get very good scores in our tests on floors that are bare They're also particularly adept in removing pet hair. They do have some flaws however, which prevent them from being our top choice. For instance, the Q5's navigation doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance and is therefore prone to getting hung up on shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate tight spaces very well in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera that would let it see the corners of a room.

It's also very quiet and you can use it while you're at work, best robot hoover or going to school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming that is offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping, relying on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick on for long and don't deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 does come with self-emptying docks, however. And, if you need to change the mopping pad for dry ones in just a few minutes.
2. IRobot Roomba X30
The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact sleek and stylish vacuum cleaner that can sweep floors. Its agile navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it simple to clean and efficient in tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also comes with self-emptying dustbins as well as powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robot vacuum and mop robot hoover for carpets, although it isn't as efficient as some of its competitors in deep cleaning.

It's not as effective on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
During tests during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop to complete an entire home, and it did so with only 66 percent of its battery left. It did a decent cleaning job on a variety of floors and rooms with different kinds of flooring, including some area rugs. Its obstacle detection was top-notch and it was nimbly avoiding fake dog socks, turds, shoes and cables.
It's a little more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, but it has superior suction, a dustbin on board that automatically fills up its base, and supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It's the only robotic mop or vacuum that scored a perfect 10 in our evaluations due to a mix of high-tech sensors that include cameras, a structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that can completely autonomously refill and empty its base station, and it boasts industry-leading 12,000Pa suction and self-cleaning mop pads.
Like other iRobot models as well, the X40 is user-friendly, offering an intuitive mobile app interface as well as integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit as well as Google Assistant. The only issue is that it's an eerily noisy device, which can be a problem if you run it in the morning prior to work or at night as you attempt to sleep.

The smart robot makes use of LIDAR and structured lighting to map out floorplans and identify obstacles. It navigates more intelligently than its top competitors. It also has a front-mounted camera to detect hazards in real-time, although this wasn't quite foolproof in our testing and was sometimes confused by power cords or other obstructions.
Its vacuum has a high maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to complete the task. It also has a feature called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the house depending on how dirty those areas are.

A stair mode can be useful if you own a large furniture. Also a recharge and resume function that lets your robot vacuum continue where it left off is ideal for busy families.

The app also gives access to many options, including seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.
Its shape is more rectangular than other robot vacuums, which means it can get to corners and underneath furniture better. It is equipped with a powerful 8000 Pascal suction, as well as sophisticated combs that remove pet hair. You can also create a spot-cleaner that will thoroughly clean the area.
