This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed however, it's also the most packed with features. Its sleek and angular design is eye-catching and it only has three physical buttons which include the power button which can also restart cleaning; a mop button that doubles as a child lock and a home button to return the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml trash bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is self-emptying and the bin is auto-filling.
The only downside I've discovered with this model is that the VibraRise mop pad mount is not removable. While you can replace the mopping cloth (if necessary) but it's a challenge to remove the mount itself for manual washing. I've observed that any carpet that the robot vacuum cleaner best touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on the mounts, which could cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number intelligent features, including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can manage and set up these via the Roborock app which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor battery life and component maintenance. But you'll need to jump through a few hoops to allow voice control with this model which is unfortunate considering how well it performs otherwise.
