However, they do have a few flaws however, which hinder them from being our first choice. One of the Q5's shortcomings is that its navigation system does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance. It's also prone to get stuck on shoes and socks and couldn't navigate through rooms with a lot of people efficiently during our tests. Also, it doesn't have an image sensor that lets it see the corners of an area.
It's still a great option, especially if you want to save money on an Roomba from iRobot and have a mostly unfinished home or office. It's also extremely quiet and works while you're at work or in school. The only thing it doesn't have that you can't find in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective in mopping, relying on disposable wet wipes that don't hold on well and aren't able to take on dried-on debris. The Q5 does have a self-emptying dock, though. If you're in need of it, the mopping pad can be changed for a wet one in minutes.

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming into a compact, sleek package. It also supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It is able to clean floors even after it vacuums. This is a feature we haven't seen on other robotic vacuum/mop combos.

It's also the only robot vacuum/mop to score an absolute 10 out of 10 in our tests. This is thanks to a mix of high-tech sensors, including a structured lighting system, a camera and multiple lasers.
