1. Roomba Q5 Pro
The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive sibling, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic cleaner and mop vacuums we have test. They are equipped with top-of-the-line motors which can pull up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. And, like other premium iRobot models (including the top pick), they use smart mapping technology to design detailed floor plans that avoid home-based obstacles like cords and furniture legs. The robots also have Carpet Boost, a feature which boosts its power when it senses dirt on the carpet.
The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored excellently in our tests of floors with no carpet and are especially adept at cleaning hair from dogs. However, they do have a few flaws that keep them from being our top choice. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is that its navigation system does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance. It's also prone to getting stuck on shoes and socks and couldn't navigate rooms with lots of people well during our tests. It doesn't also have a camera to see around corners.
It's still a good value particularly if your office or home has lots of unfinished floors and you want to save money. It's also very quiet and you can use it while you're at work, or at school. The only thing it doesn't have that you won't find in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on bare floors. It's also less effective at mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes that don't stick very well and cannot handle dried-on debris. The Q5 is self-emptying cradle however. If you're required to, the mopping pad can be changed for a wet one in just a few seconds.
2. iRobot Roomba X30
The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into an elegant, best robot hoover compact package. Its agile navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it easy to clean and efficient at taking on larger particles, such as pet hair. It also features self-emptying dustbins as well as powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robotic mop and vacuum robot vacuum for carpets, though it isn't as efficient as some of its competitors in deep cleaning.
This high-performing mop and vacuum combination utilizes advanced sensors to avoid obstacles and pet waste and it will learn your home's layout over time to provide more efficient cleaning. You can change its cleaning schedule and customize zones through the well-designed app. Its battery life is average when compared to other models.
When the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted space, you can tell it to remove and extend its mop. This helps prevent cross contamination. Its flex arm can also be utilized to reach under low-lying furnishings and along baseboards. It doesn't offer the same washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Professional+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
During tests during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop in the market to clean the entire house with the battery at 66 percent left. It also did an excellent job of cleaning a mix of floors and rooms with different flooring types, including certain area rugs. Its obstacle detection was great and it was able to avoid fake dog turds, socks, shoes and bundles cables.
It's more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however, it comes with superior suction, an onboard dustbin that automatically empties into its base, and supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can clean the floor even after it has vacuumed. This is something we haven't seen in other robot vacuum/mop combination.
3. Roomba X40 from iRobot
This robot vacuum and mop combination has a sleek, circular look that looks more like the regular Roomba model than the boxy models from the competition. It's one of our most attractive robot vacuums with mop vacuums. The newest model from iRobot is among the most intelligent, with advanced features including enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot vacuum cleaners uk that is able to wash mop pads).
It's also the sole robot vacuum/mop to score a perfect 10 out of 10 in our tests. This is thanks to a mix of modern sensors, including a restructured light system, camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that can completely autonomously refill and empty its base station and it has an industry-leading 12,000Pa suction and self-cleaning mop pads.
The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is simple to operate. It comes with an intuitive mobile app interface that integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only issue is that the X40 is still a noisy unit. This could be a problem in mornings before work, or during the night when you are trying to sleep.
It's also a bit expensive, but it's not as pricey as the Ecovacs X2 Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra Both of which are equally powerful and look better. If you're willing to live with a little more noise and a little more cost, this is a very capable two-in-one that should satisfy most people.
4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop, with a lot of advanced features that let you get rid of your chores. The smart robot makes use of LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floorplans and identify obstacles. It is more efficient in its navigation than its premium competitors. It also has a camera mounted on the front to detect hazards in real-time but this was not reliable in our tests and was often confused by power cords or other obstructions.
The vacuum has a suction maximum of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to finish the job. It also has "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates how hard the vacuum works and also alters the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house according to the degree of dirt they tend to be.
If you have a bigger home, it is worth choosing a model that has spot or zone cleaning mode. This lets you tell the robot which area of your house needs to be cleaned by using the app or voice control. A stair mode can be beneficial if you have number of furniture. Additionally, a recharge and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to pick up right where it left off is ideal for busy families.
5. iRobot Roomba RX3
The RX3 is more sophisticated than the price suggests. It is a great job vacuuming, picking up 55% of the debris we found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using one pad, which uses a reciprocating motion, which cleans better than most of the other mop cleaners for robots we've examined. It's also self-sufficient, with a full-featured application and a self-emptying, washable base.
The well-designed iRobot app will guide you through a mapping session that collects data about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, plan the perfect spot for cleaning or sort out your rooms with the most dirt for better performance. The app has a range of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.
It is also able to reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It also has a powerful 8,000 Pascal suction and intelligent combs for hair of pets. You can also organize a spot-cleaner that thoroughly cleans a specific area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and cheaper alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras resemble cute eyes. It does a good job vacuuming, but is more prone to getting caught on low thresholds and is noisier than the other top robotic vacuums we've examined. It also has a less user-friendly app and a tiny base station that doesn't double as an emptying bin.
