For one, the Q5's navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology and is therefore prone to become entangled in shoes and socks and can't navigate rooms with a lot of people efficiently in our tests. It also doesn't come with an image sensor that lets it see the corners of a room.
It's still a good deal, especially if your office or home has lots of unfinished floors and you're looking to save money. It's also very quiet and you can use it when you're at work or school. It lacks the edge-to-edge bare floor vacuuming offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping, using disposable wet wipes, which don't stick on for long and don't take on dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying cradle, however. If you need to, the mopping pad can be changed for a wet one in just a few seconds.

It can even clean the floor after vacuuming it, something we haven't seen in other robot vacuum cleaners reviews vacuum/mop combinations.
3. IRobot Roomba X40
With a sleek, circular design that looks more like a normal Roomba than the competition's compact models This robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most attractive designs in our reviews. iRobot's latest flagship model also is among the most intelligent and has advanced features like enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot vacuum with mop that is able to wash mop pads).
It's the only robotic vacuum/mop that scored an exemplary 10/10 in our testing thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors, including a camera, structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mops.
The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is simple to operate. It has a simple mobile app interface that is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit.
