Seven Reasons To Explain Why Best Robot Vacuum That Mops Is Important
The best automatic vacuum Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.
He evaluates and tests cleaning equipment, focusing on mopping and robot vacuum combos. These multitaskers can be a great option for those looking to get rid of mopping off their to-do lists. Some have great mapping and obstacles avoidance. Others even wash and refill mopping pads themselves for a hands-free cleaning.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model you need to pick if you are looking for an best automatic vacuum and mop vacuum cleaner (read this blog post from Bkdo) that can also mop. It's smaller than other models on this list which makes it easier to maneuver in tight corners and under furniture. It has a 220 degree Lidar which, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, provides one of my top navigation and object avoidance capabilities I've seen in the form of a robotic vacuum. It packs a powerful 4600mAh battery that can last for up to 170-minutes if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it is able to run longer in turbo). It will even return to the dock to top up its battery halfway through an efficient.
It's efficient and does an outstanding job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms quickly, and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room and hallways with only one sweep. Its 8,000pa motor is able to clean dirt as well as pet hair and automatic vacuum cleaner poop easily. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it comes in contact with carpets and the two side brushes help pull out debris from corners.
The mopping performance is a little less impressive, but not by much. The rotating mop spins fast and utilizes 2.2lbs to scrub dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arms stick out slightly more than other robots, which is helpful to maneuver around tight corners and on baseboards. The front arms can also be used to collect larger debris such as books and toys that have been damaged.
Another good thing is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mops I've tried. It doesn't make as loud of a sound when mopping or vacuuming and is quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it must utilize a specific mopping solution and is sold separately. It is easy to set up, and it works well. However when you purchase this vacuum solely for mopping it is important to be aware of this.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It comes with a wide array of features that make it a great option for homeowners looking for an extremely efficient, flexible and ad-hoc cleaning machine.
The device is equipped with an extremely powerful and impressive cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensors with an RGB camera to map the home and locate furniture and other obstacles. It can then use this information to clean methodically and effectively. This results in a thorough, consistent clean that is also quite fast.
In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads are capable of reaching many different surfaces. These include corners or baseboards, as well as other hard-to-reach areas. The side brush can be stretched to reach the floor near to walls and other fixtures. Additionally the mop pads can be cleaned and dried to prevent the build-up of dust and reduce odors.
Another notable feature is the customizable options available via apps. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the amount of suction and select between a back-andforth or more random pattern. You can also choose the number of passes, which will determine the speed at which it can move around your home. You can even choose to turn off the side brush to avoid damaging carpets and rugs.
It's expensive, but it comes with a lot of smart features. However, it's important to note that it incurs regular expenses in the form of mopping equipment and maintenance. For example, a brushroll needs to be replaced every six to 12 months or after 300 hours. The filter must be cleaned after 150 hours and the mop pad must be replaced every one to three months.
The robot vacuum mop has a high Amazon rating and includes a wide range of physical automation features. These include an energy button that can also function as a general 'Clean' button and a 'Home button that sends it back to its base station after finishing the cleaning process. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically empties the dustbin and refills its water tank to mop and washes and dry its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be the ideal option for busy professionals or anyone who needs to keep their home neat without spending too much time doing chores. Its powerful performance, intelligent navigation and long battery life allow you to maintain a clean house with little effort.
The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot mop vacuum and mop, which means it is able to handle both vacuuming and mopping. The robot has two modules: a combined dry bin and reservoir of water, and a separate mopping unit with microfiber pads that snap into and out of the way. It's a little old-fashioned to have separate modules for mopping and vacuuming however it does mean that you don't have to worry about changing out disposable bags or refilling the tank with water.
The Matrix Plus performed well at vacuuming and mopping. Its best automatic vacuum feature is its precise floorplan map, which it uses when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate easily between rugs, furniture, and other obstacles. The app also offers the option of setting "No-Go zones" and virtual barriers, which can help to shield certain areas of your house from being scrubbed with a mop.
We also noticed that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well at picking up pet hair. It was able to capture an enormous amount of hair shed by our cats and even was able to get into the nooks and crevices of our stairs while other robots struggled. Its noise levels were fairly low and there were lovely jingles that let you know that it was starting and getting its work done.
The app was too easy and you had to change the modules every time you changed between vacuuming and mopping. The app can't hold multiple maps, which could be a problem for homes that has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus is a good choice for people who want a smart robot that is capable of mopping and vacuuming.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive item in our review. However, it has distinct features that are worth a look. The X1 Omni is notable for its massive dock that serves as an charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two 4-liter water tanks. It also houses two bins: a 2.5-liter dustbin and the 2.5 liter dust bin.
The base comes with a few control buttons that allow you to manually start cleaning tasks or recall the robot, or run the dock's automatic emptying procedure. Press two buttons to switch off the child lock. This is a great feature for parents who are concerned about their children messing around with the vacuum.
Like other robotic vacuums the Omni Omni utilizes its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path, and then avoid them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system will map your home 10 times faster than standard laser detection systems and is four times more accurate in recognising objects.
Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni could occasionally become so entangled with an obstacle--such as the power cord that is draped across a rug--that it becomes stuck and stops working until you free it. This was a rare occurrence however it was frustrating because the X1 doesn't have a "stuck status" alert on its app.
Another issue that could be a problem is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming modes during a cleaning session. You'll need to manually switch between the two, which isn't an issue except for the fact that mopping pads aren't washed and dried between use which could lead to mildew or mold.
On the positive side it's worth noting that the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, automatic vacuum cleaner thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who dreamed up its sleek, modern-looking base and mopping pad. It's a significant difference from the utilitarian black bases of rivals like Roborock or iRobot. It's also a welcome sight for the market that is dominated by boxy models.
